Fatty liver.: Steatosis of liver is fatty infiltration of the liver. Liver cells become infiltrated with fat, fatty acid chains (triglycerides). Most common causes: alcoholism and obesity. Treatment is to correct the cause. If occurs in pregnancy, deliver baby as soon as safe. An unusual form is 'reye's disease' where children are treated for viral disease with aspirin. No symptoms. Liver chems abnormal.
