A member asked:

How long does it take for hepatic steatosis to develop to nash?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

At this time I don't think that the literature is in agreement with the inevitable course of steatosis developing into the more serious NASH which is a common liver disease requiring transplant. It's my understanding that only those with a high fibrosis count are at high risk for proceeding to NASH. It's my advice that steatosis patients should be followed by hepatologists or gastroenterologists.
