Urine test: This could represent cystitis but it also could represent nephritis. Cystitis will reflect leukocytes positive and will reflect nitrite positive as well.

No.: Not necessarily. If there are symptoms of cystitis of burning with urination, frequent urination, nighttime urination, urgent urination, might be. Usually have positive white cells and maybe nitrites. Need a urine lab analysis with microscopy instead of dipstick to see if the trace hematuria is real. If it is, then the patient needs an exam and evaluation from a doctor. R/O kidney stones, etc.

Yes: Cystitis means inflammation of the urinary tract. Usually accompanied by burning with urination and sometimes fever. Hematuria is worrisome because you don't know the cause especially if urination is not painful. Have your doctor order a urinalysis and get the source of the blood & protein found before you have more symptoms.
