A member asked:

I don't like coffee, can i take caffeine pill in the morning while pregnant they are 100 mg caffeine?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not recommended...: If you are pregnant, listen to your body and rest when you are tired. Caffeine is a stimulant. It will cause a rise in pulse and blood pressure. Caffeine is also a diuretic, it increases the frequency of urination and can cause you to become dehydrated. Caffeine crosses the placenta to your baby who cannot fully metabolize the caffeine. The less caffeine you consume, the better.
