Very rare: This is one of these phenomenom that one reads about but never actually see. I have never seen this in 21 years in practice. This is more common in older so called typical antipsychotic drugs like haldol, (haloperidol) mellaril, thorazine. Seen it plenty with these drugs. Less common in newer anti-psychotics like risperdal. I would not quite adderall or ritalin due to this. Hope this is helpful.

Very rarely: TD occurs very rarely with Adderall and Ritalin, (methylphenidate) and there are alternatives. If you have any questions about these medications, please talk to your psychiatrist who would be able to discuss risks, benefits, and alternatives with you. There is no need to be afraid of a doctor who is willing to listen and communicate with you. Remember that your psychiatrist is a professional.
