Impaction: Oil retention enema, molasses enema, manual disimpaction are some treatments that may be successful.

Impaction: Disimpaction is essential from the rectum. This requires gentle finger manipulation, mineral oil enemas, then higher soap suds enemas. Milk and molasses enemas are safe and effective. Laxatives should not be given at this point
