Some thoughts: Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health, and overactive thyroid due to irritation (or even rarely Tumor) of the thyroid can certainly increase metabolism. Would be easily checked with a regular doctor appointment, but overactive thyroid is quite harsh on the system and shouldn't be let go for days.
