See doctor: What you described is consistent with venous thrombosis. While venous thrombosis in the arm is less common and less dangerous than similar problem in legs, it would be prudent to see your doctor at the earliest to prevent the spread of the clot and infection, if the clot is associated with infection.

Cord: Hi. Sounds like you have a thrombophlebitis. These can get infected also. You need to see your doctor to see if an ultrasound exam is indicated, and maybe anticoagulants +/- antibiotics. Do this sooner than later. Good luck!

Painful Vein: It sounds as if you have a condition called thrombophlebitis. It is not nsusual after having and intravenous line of a blood test done. Tou should see a medical professional within the next 24 hours to evaluate this condition further. In the meantime, you can apply a warm compress to the area to relive the discomfort.
