BV: Bacteria do not change from resistant to an antibiotic back to sensitive. It is, however, rare that anybody does sensitivity testing on vaginal flora. I suspect you are theorizing that since you failed to respond they are resistant, but that may not be the case. See your MD: It is unlikely you will ever be able to take metronidazole for your BV as you are now, from what I can determine, colonized with bacteria that is resistant to metronidazole. Your physician should be able to do cultures on the bacteria and see what antibiotics will work against it. Resistance is the main reason we do not like to give antibiotics if we don't have to.
