HIV testing is easy: many causes of sore throat can last several weeks. Suggest a visit to your practitioner. And HIV testing has never been easier ( http://hivtest.cdc.gov )

Not likely: Not knowing ALL the risk factors here , I would still say very unlikely. Viral illnesses and even allergies with post nasal drip can cause sore throat. HIV can cause a short term flu like illness . Also, throat infection with Chlamydia and Gonorrhea are also less common causes of a sore throat. If you have any questions please see your doctor .

Sore throat: Sore throats can take a while to get better. You could have post nasal drip or reflux. Either way HIV is not on the top of my list as a cause and is really a diagnosis of exclusion. Practice safe sex and do not use drugs. If you are worried about HIV get tested. Be safe. Good luck. Feel better.
