Could be arthritis: It sounds like you may have fluid on your knee, or a knee effusion. This is usually a sign of acute injury or chronic arthritis. However, if you have calf pain and that leg is swollen, you should seek treatment immediately as you could have a blood clot that can be life threatening. If no calf swelling, try ice on the knee. But, see your doctor for X-rays and further evaluation.

Baker's cyst?: IF this pain/sensation is accompanied by knee swelling and/or calf swelling, one possibility is a knee effusion which communicates with a Bakers cyst. Without noticeable swelling, though, that would be unlikely.
