From "skipped" atrial or ventricular beats ("extra" beats originating in the upper or lower chambers of the heart), an irregular rhythm called "atrial fibrillation" etc.The only way to diagnose with certainty is to have a recording of the electrical activity of the heart (ECG) or 24 hour recording of heart rhythm (holter monitor).
