Acne: Acne or comedo occurs when the sebaceous gland surrounding the hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. Blackheads are open comedo with oxidized sebum which give it the black color. Ultimately the content of the gland will surface and clear the pimple. I fo not encourage applying manual pressure to pimples, especially in middle of face. OTC Benzoyl Peroxide is a good start.
