What will happen at an orthopedic appt. for pulled or torn ligaments in ankle? boot? cast? i used rice, nsaids, and it's been 4 months since injury

Therapy: X-rays to confirm that there were no broken bones and physical therapy will probably be recomended.

Chronic ankle: If ankle pain ,swelling and inability to return to full function persist after 4 months of RICE Rx. One will expect a thorough physical exam, xrays, including stress views and if indicated MRI testing. The final treatment depends upon those findings.
