Likely temporary: Tinnitus may be caused by multiple etiologies: Hearing loss, noise exposure, medication side effects, allergies, eustachian tube dysfunction, trauma, infection to name a few. Valsalva (autoinsufflation), decongestant, nasal steroid spray and time usually suffice. Occasionally a temporary oral steroid will hasten resolution. If persistent audiogram and ENT (otolaryngology) follow up is warreted
