A member asked:

Will i get diabetes bcos of gall stones? or will high level cholestrol causes gall stones to form? clear my doubt pl....

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gallstones: are not caused by diabetes or elevated blood cholesterol levels, but by imbalance of phospholipids, bile salts, and cholesterol content in bile. If you have gallstones and diabetes, some surgeons recommend cholecystectomy even when you have little or no pain, because diabetes can cause inability to feel the pain. Consult a surgeon for specific recommendation in your case.
