It usually resolves : Much conjunctivitis is viral and will xlear after a few days with no treatment. Bacteerial conjunctivitis will resolve faster with antibiotic drops. Allergic conjunctivitis can last longer, and may respond to eye drops.

Conjunctivitis: Typical pinkeye, or conjunctivitis, in adults lasts for 2-4 weeks. During this time, the eye may be red, puffy, uncomfortable, and very watery. Both eyes may be involved, and the vision may blur. Use artificial tears and cold compresses for some relief. Do not rub the eyes, and wash everything you touch with lysol wipes, since this condition is highly contagious from contact.
