Typically: Specifically, blood in the urine (hematuria) is highly associated with bladder cancer. In early stages it may be only microscopic whereas in some cases it may be visible to the naked eye. Most patients with bladder cancer will have blood in the urine, but many patients may have microscopic blood in the urine on routine exam though few will be shown to have bladder cancer.
