Consider surgery: If your child is constantly mouth breathing or has pauses in breathing greater than 10-15 consideration should be made to remove his adenoids and if his tonsils are blocking his breathing, then also his tonsils. Daycare may be contributing to a chronic infection of his adenoids. It may be worth a trial of an antibiotic and steroids to see if this will reduce the swelling and help infection.
