Costochondritis: Costochondritis is an inflammation in the cartilage in the chest often where the ribs meet the sternum. It should hurt when you touch it and may also bother you when you breathe. It can be a slow to improve problem that comes and goes. And maybe from a virus. The cartilage is slow to heal because of poor circulation. Try Tylenol, (acetaminophen) heat or Advil.
