CMV testing: A positive CMV IgG test score indicates the child was infected with CMV at some time during their lifetime. The CMV IgM test has several possible interpretations and false negative results. The best thing to do is to follow up with an immunology specialist to have a complete consultation. Thank you

It depends: CMV Positive IgG and negative IgM, means that the baby's mother contacted the disease in the past but no longer has the disease. The antibodies just passed from mom to baby. Your baby needs to be examined by pediatrician to determine whether he has congenital CMV or not. If he does not have any of the markers then he is OK. If he has then the Pediatrician can discuss this with you.

IgM negative: IgM negative usually means absence of an active infection and the IgG is most likely acquired from the mother and in fact provides passive protection against CMV.
