It varies...: It depends on what was injured. If the injury results in severe bleeding, then shock could occur within minutes. If the bowel is injured and perforates, then it could take many hours. For this reason, it's common to observe a patient in the hospital for a day or two if there is a possibility of abdominal injury.

Depends: Internal bleeding is a common cause of shock. Depending on exactly what was injured, shock could occur within 5 to 10 minutes, and would certainly be evident within 30 minutes. Symptoms would be increasing abdominal pain, fast weak pulse, sweating, shortness of breath, confusion or loss of consciousness, or agitation. Alcohol or drugs could block some of the symptoms.
