Usually not: The autoantibodies of lupus usually persisit even during remission. There may be a change in titer, but blood tests are not likely to become negative.

Yes: If a person has lupus, the disease can go into remission. The antibody that over 99% of lupus patients have is the antinuclear antibody (ana). That antibody can become negative but its absence does not correlate with disease activity or remission. The tests that correlate more closely with disease activity are the double-stranded dna antibodies and serum complements C3 and c4.
