May want evaluation: Did you experience any injury to the shoulder, arm, or upper back recently? Is there any pain with the numbness? Numbness is not generally a normal thing to have happen out of the blue or something you should have to deal with if it can be fixed. I'd get examined by your doc who may order an xray or have you consider physical therapy or give you other exercises to help.

Shoulder numbness: This could be anything from a pinched nerve to a sign of a heart problem, so it won't be possible to give you advice online. If the numbness is a new sign with no reasonable explanation like an injury, call or e-mail your regular doctor to discuss it. Your history of other health conditions, surgeries, etc. is important to determine what might be going on.
