Treatment: Mild sleep apnea is usually treated with lifestyle changes: 1. Weight loss in overweight and obese patients, with consideration of bariatric surgery 2. Avoidance of alcohol for 4 to 6 hours before bedtime 3. Avoidance of muscle relaxants and sedating medications 4. Sleep hygiene training 5. Avoidance of sleeping on your back Talk with the doctor who diagnosed you to help you with training/counsel.

Multifactorial: There are many things that you can do. If you truly have mild sleep apnea diagnosed by sleep study, CPAP machine use can be helpful but weight-loss and avoiding sleeping on your back can be conservative measures. Surgical options exist but they're the most beneficial for patients with true anatomic problems.
