Viral vs. allergy: If you have no actual cough or fever it is likely either viral in which case you would just treat it symptomatically with something like Mucinex (guaifenesin) to help loosen and bring the mucous up. If it seems more allergy any decongestant should help which you can get over the counter. If it persists for more than a few days see your doctor so he or she can run further tests.
