Intractable seizures: In mitochondrial encephalopathy generalized tonic-clonic seizures are generally amenable to traditional antiepileptic drugs, whereas if there is a myoclonus component, the myoclonus may be relatively refractory to treament and may develop into continuous generalized myoclonus. Have you been told if he also has myoclonic seizures?
