Rest....: First off, there are no muscles in the front of your ankle. You have many tendons that cross the joint into your foot. They could be injured. If they were torn, would be in a lot more pain and could not walk well. The first thing they would do is use rest, ice, NSAIDS. A CAM boot would be a great choice for 3-4 weeks.
