IBS pain: IBS can cause irritation at any point along the bowel including the lower large intestines and rectum. If you are having your usual IBS symptoms, then the pain you describe is likely related; however, if the pain is persistent and unrelated, you need to be checked out for other pathologies such as hemorrhoids, anal fissures, diverticulitis etc. You need a physical exam.

Related possibly: People with irritable bowel syndrome often develop myofascial pain or fibromyalgia. The pain in your tailbone may be a manifestation of myofascial pain or a similar condition like fibromyalgia, although pain is more widespread in fibromyalgia. It may respond to healthy nutrition, physical therapy, sleep, aerobic exercise and/or home exercises. See your doctor about it if it persists.
