No worries re: HIV: HIV -the virus that causes AIDS is acquired from sexual activity or injection drug use. You cannot get HIV infection from blood outside the body -since once it leaves the body it dies right away. This is obviously a good thing. For some viruses though, like Hepatitis B -they CAN survive outside the body. In India there's some Hep B there. There is a Hep B vaccine you can get. Hope you can be safe.
