Much should focus on: Living healthy. Make sure your are eating/drinking well, sleeping well, not overexerting yourself but also don't keep yourself completely bed bound. Avoid drinking if you normally do. While there aren't "cures". There is some evidence that chicken soup helps with symptom reduction. Otherwise the data about other remedies like zinc, vitamin C, echinacea is quite mixed.

Time: There really isn't a way to "cure" a cold because it's caused by a virus. Your body will kill it off within 7-14 days. You can help with the symptoms in many ways. Raw honey can help with cough and sore throat. Nasal saline spray or neti-pot can help with the nasal congestion symptoms.
