Possibly: Tonsil stone are food/bacteria/yeast that get caught inside tonsil crevices and can cause bad breath. They are more common in people with cryptic tonsils - tonsils that have deep pits. If you have a runny nose from a cold or allergies, some of the mucus drips downs your throat. This would increase the material that can get stuck in the tonsils.

Calcified debris: Tonsilloliths form when bacteria & debris get caught in the pockets of your tonsils. It hardens and becomes calcified. You see them more frequently if there is chronic inflammation of the tonsils.
