No: There is no androgen blocker that only binds at the pituitary. The availabl eandrogen blockers will block androgen throughout the body, although in men the aromatase inhibitors (a homronal treatment for women) may have a differential effect on the pituitary and may increase testosterone in men. No: There are ARs found all over the body. It's a type of nuclear receptor, that is, it binds to T or DHT in the cytoplasm and then translocates into the nucleus. ARB's like casodex will block AR's wherever they are. Enzalutamide has a greater affinity, prevents translocation & binding to DNA. You may be talking about LHRH agonists or antagonist for prostate cancer. Firmagon (degarelix) blocks in the pituitary.
