Painful lump on hip: This could be part of your normal anatomy from one of the "bumps" on your femur, the large leg bone that form part of your hip. If your unknowingly bumped it, there could be a bone bruise, or possible the fascia (connective tissue) over the area is inflamed and tight, such as with IT band syndrome or the tensor fascia lata (especially if you're a runner) Best to have it looked at/examined
