A member asked:

I had surgery a week ago. my incision doesn't look infected but it's starting to scab over. there's bits of white crud on the stitches. what is it?

Cellular debris: You're not reporting any worrisome signs of a wound infection after surgery -that would include redness, PAIN at the site, pus draining & some sort of fever. It sounds like you're describing just some dead skin cells & probably a few other cells that have 'thrown in the towel' -creating the 'crud'. I wouldn't worry about it since you don't have any worrisome symptoms. Sutures to be removed soon?
