Inflammation/anxiety: Stiff fingers/hands can be primarily due to rheumatoid arthritis. However, there are other possible causes which may include injury in the finger joints or peripheral neuropathy. You may also have costochondritis, when your ribs get inflamed at the junction with the breast bone. Anxiety and sometime panic attacks can cause these symptoms.
