Ancillary finding: "Mild prominence of the pulmonary markings" is liking referring to the lung parenchyma. This can be inflammation or scarring. A common cause of parenchymal or interstitial thickening is aspiration of acid stomach contents in patients with reflux that typically occurs at night. The report may also be referring to atelectasis - closed areas of the lungs not in use due to shallow breathing.
