Caffeine or BCP?: If your Ultrasound and diagnostic Mammograms were normal, consider the impact of Caffeine or Xanthines in your diet. Coffee, tea, chocolate, many sodas, OTC energy medications and diet supplements can all contain caffeine-like substances that can cause breast cysts or pain. Microgestin has also been reported to cause breast tenderness, if this is a new medication, talk to your OB about a new RX.
