Depends: Some whitening toothpastes are abrasive, and that can cause your teeth to wear away prematurely. in addition, they really only remove surface stains, they don't whiten your teeth all that much. If you want a professional result, see a professional.. a local dentist.

Not really.: If you are using OTC (over the counter) dental products, then find the ones with ADA logo. ADA stands for American Dental Association. In order to get ADA seal, manufacturers need to submit research data supporting their advertisements/claims and need to be approved by ADA. Whitening toothpaste contains abrasive particles that do not really work in whitening your teeth. It may remove stains.

ADA Seal is OK: There are a variety of toothpastes products and procedures available to help you improve the look and health of your teeth. All toothpastes help remove surface stain by the action of mild abrasives particles. Whitening toothpastes in the ADA Seal of Acceptance have special chemical or polishing agents that provide additional stain removal effectiveness. Take care.

Whitening TP: Whitening toothpaste is OK to use, I personally would not make it my every day toothpaste due to its more abrasive properties. It does not whiten your teeth like bleaching materials do however. Whitening TP removes surface stain to make your teeth look cleaner hence whiter. If considering bleaching have a checkup and professional cleaning first to address any problems and maximize your result.
