Brushed too hard?: Did you have a spot or sore on this area BEFORE you brushed it? If not, you may have scraped it with your toothbrush, bitten it by accident and don't recall, or have a sore developing. You can treat it with hydrogen peroxide to keep it clean and avoid infection. Try not to each "sharp" foods like chips there, and all it to heal. If it doesn't heal, see Dr. or dentist. Good luck!

Bleeding: From the description it appears you have periodontal disease (bleeding gums). Improve oral hygiene and also consult your dentist. Some uncommon conditions like epulis is possible. Also needs to exclude some other diseases. If dentist clears you then see your physician.
