MRI vs NMRI: They're essentially the same thing, just slightly different terminology, especially when used in the medical field, sort of like CT scan versus the older term CAT scan. Back when I was an undergraduate and worked in a chemistry lab we had an early, primitive MRI that was used for analysing compounds. It was called NMRI at the time, or nuclear magnetic resonance imaging.
