Infection: Those can be signs of infection. See a doctor to determine what is wrong.

Tubes: The myringotomy tubes are placed so that if there is an infection, the purulent discharge can drain out of the ear. The ear infection can still be painful, or it can be a canal infection which can be more dangerous with tubes since there is a connection now. I would seek medical attention for appropriate antibiotics.
