Calcitonin : No, calcitonin is NOT an antihistamine. It is a medicine that has FDA approval for the treatment of osteoporosis (thin bones). It is a very weak medicine and there is no proof that it can prevent broken bones. Doctors sometimes prescribe calcitonin to help with pain after a spine fracture. It is not prescribed to treat allergies.
