Skin reaction: Maybe it helps rotating the patch from place to place, and to rub some aloe lotion on the affected area. Also may be a good idea to take some antihistamine drug, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Vistaril, to reduce allergic response. Good luck !

Probably not: Because she is having reactions to the adhesive, as long as she is using the patches she will continue to have a reaction. She may need to see her doctor for alternate medications for her pain.

Sometimes: Skin reactions can be mitigated by using a hydrocortisone cream about 1-2 hrs before placing lidocaine patch over the area. Just remember to wash skin off and dry before placing the patch on so that skin is clear of any greasiness the hydrocortisone cream.
