Lucky you!: If it is helping, that is wonderful. Often it does nothing more than use up your money. As far as serious damage goes, it has not been tested over time or in a controlled manner enough to say. This is always the problem with natural supplements, since they are never held to FDA standards, even when they are tested. I have heard no bad reports about garcinia cambogia except for it not helping.

Probably safe: Not many studies on the safety - it appears to be safe if used 12 weeks or less.

Don't use it: Garcinia cambogia is in most weight loss supplements, and can cause liver failure. It was also used in Hydroxycut which was taken off the market as people died from using it. I see a handful of patients per month with abnormal liver tests after using this medicine. I would NOT recommend it. There is no "magic pill" for weight loss. Diet and exercise remain the #1 way to lose weight and keep it off
