A member asked:

When getting a breast sonogram what does a tumor look like?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Breast Imaging: Occurs after finding a lump, or on a screening mammogram. The u/s can show if the lump is cystic or solid, with color, vascularity, and estimate charcteristic of benign or malignant. Current u/s is hand held, done by a tech, and reviewed by a radiologist. It can provide size and shape information, and see if there are other lesions.
