Zenckers?: Hard to say based upon your question but it may be a Zencker's Diverticulum, a small "hernia" outpouch of the esophagus.

Wrong term?: Never heard of a "throat hernia." Perhaps your physician said "hiatal hernia?" This is commonly seen on a chest xray. It is often incidental but may cause heartburn or indigestion. Other small hernias or "outpouchings" can occur in the foodpipe or windpipe, but these are not usually called hernias nor commonly seen on a chest xray.
