Echo: Kyle, though EKG, laboratory evaluation, and Xray can be helpful, the money test is an Echocardiogram. This ultrasound of the heart will determine your Ejection Fraction (EF). You should have an EF of more than 50%. Less, and it supports a diagnosis of CHF. Hope this helps!

...: although not very specific, the BNP is sometimes used in conjuction with echo to make the diagnosis. test of choice is echocardiogram to asses ventricular function.
