OTC decongestant: Have you tried a simple OTC decongestant? Ask the pharmacist for a recommendation and see if it helps. Some use a Neti-Pot. Avoid allergens if you known yours. Drink lots of water. If there are other symptoms you didn't mention, consider an exam. Best wishes.

Any allergy symptoms: like itchy,sneezy nose?If so, the mucus could be from Hay Fever/Allergies.A trial of over the counter antihistamines would be in order.Ask your pharmacist for a recommendation .Also ask about the use of a Netty Pot to help with mucus removal and flushing out of the sinuses.Good luck.
