Antiviral treatment: There is 'one level higher' in terms of antiviral treatment for shingles -& that's intravenous acyclovir. It's heavy duty stuff and you would need to go to the ER to get that going. The real question is though, is that 'bump' at all related to shingles Y/N. Given that this can be serious - affecting the face and possibly the eye, I think you should get it seen today. If there's an ID doc, ask 'em
